Staples buys office supply company in Finland
Staples added to its European holdings on Friday, buying Finnish office supply company Oy Lindell Ab. Staples said it has had an alliance with Oy Lindell to serve global contract customers in Finland since it bought Dutch office supply chain Corporate Express NV in 2008.

Lawson Profit Drops In Q1
Lawson Inc has reported a sharp drop in first-quarter profit, hurt by low demand for non-alcoholic beverages and poor weather. For the quarter ending May, net profit fell by 32% year-on-year to 4bn yen, while operating profit was down 8% to 11.2bn yen.
Pick n Pay plans Africa expansion
The company said this week it had accepted an "unsolicited" offer of A$215-million (R1.4-billion) for its 77 Franklins supermarkets and eight franchises in New South Wales from Metcash, Australia's largest grocery wholesaler. Cash from Australian sale will also help fund overhaul of distribution system.
