Celesio, Phoenix Tie Up For Local Operations

In a major shake-up of the Dutch pharmacy market, German groups Celesio and Phoenix Pharmahandel have announced that they are merging their local operations, creating the second-largest local pharma company in terms of sales, trailing market leader Mediq. The new entity, which has not yet been named, will operate 115 directly-owned pharmacies and 40 franchise-partner pharmacies.
